The Central Library of JBIT is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of on-line databases, books, e-journals, CD-ROMs, patents, e-standards, theses, reports, monographs, etc It aims to provide comprehensive resources and services in support of research, teaching, and learning needs of the institution’s community. The library homepage facilitates electronic access to various full text & bibliographical databases & e-journals.
Library Automation-The library’s varied functions such as acquisition, circulation, cataloguing and serials control, are automated using integrated software called “LIBSYS”.
DELNET Facility –Click here; The Central Library is also a member of DELNET (Developing Library Network). DELNET has emerged as a major resource sharing library network in South Asia with more than 8000 libraries, as its members. The main objectives of DELNET are to promote resource sharing among the member libraries by collecting, storing and disseminating information and by offering networked services to user. DELNET offers access to more than 80 lakh books, periodicals, articles and video-recordings.
Digital Library Facility-Click here; There is a digital library section with numerous computers, connected through LAN with the facility of hi-speed internet service. This section also has the facility to access multimedia-based learning resources, e-books and e- journals. The server based learning resources cover not only all the subjects taught as per the University’s curriculum but also useful reading and reference material for projects and research. We have a subscription of EBSCO which gives access to a collection of more than 7000 e-books and e-journals.
Online Search Facility-JBIT Library is equipped with online search facility. All PCs have been installed inside the library for this purpose. By using on line search, you can quickly find out the location and availability of a particular book in the library. The OPAC and Web OPAC facility in LIBSYS, facilitates searching a book online in many ways by selecting different fields such as author, title, publication.
Photocopy Facility-JBIT Library provides photocopying facility at reasonable charges for certain articles/pages from those magazines, journals and reference books that are not issued to the students, in ordinary case.
Book Reservation Facility-Our library provides a simple online reservation procedure to reserve any book, which is already issued to someone.
Book Bank Facility-Book bank facility is available for the first year students.
Inter Library Loan Facility-Under the Inter Library Loan Scheme, the material which is not available in our library is procured from other libraries with the help of DELNET (Developing Library Network).
Access Until Late Evening-Library is open for reading purpose from 09:00 am to 06:00 pm.
Circulation Time –The circulation time is from 09:30 am to 4:30 pm.
