SC/ST/OBC & Minority Committee

FUNCTIONS

                          The SC, ST, OBC, and Minority Committee play decisive roles in fostering an inclusive environment and addressing the specific needs and concerns of students in these communities. The Committee will perform various functions, which are as follows:

  1. Promoting Inclusivity and Diversity: The Committee will work towards creating an inclusive environment where students from all backgrounds feel welcome and valued. The Committee will organize cultural events, awareness programs, and diversity celebrations to promote understanding and appreciation of different cultures and identities.
  2. Addressing Socio-Economic Disparities: Many students from SC, ST, OBC, and minority backgrounds face socio-economic challenges that can affect their academic performance and overall well-being. The Committee will provide support services such as scholarships, financial aid, and mentorship programs to help alleviate these barriers and ensure equal opportunities for all students.
  3. Advocacy and Representation: The Committee will advocate for the interests and concerns of students from marginalized communities within the institution. They will represent their perspectives in discussions with the administration, faculty, and student government, advocating for policies and initiatives that promote equity and inclusion.
  4. Monitoring Admissions and Enrollment: The Committee will monitor the admission and enrollment processes to ensure that students from SC, ST, OBC, and minority backgrounds are not disadvantaged or discriminated against during the admissions process. They may also provide guidance and support to prospective students from these communities.
  5. Providing Support Services: The committees may offer various support services to students, including academic advising, counseling, and mentoring.   9. Addressing Grievances and Concerns: The Committee will serve as a resource for students to voice their grievances and concerns about discrimination, harassment, or other injustices. They may provide confidential support, guidance, and advocacy to students who experience any form of bias or prejudice.
  10. Collaborating with External Organizations: The Committee may collaborate with external organizations, NGOs, and government agencies working on issues related to social justice, minority rights, and education.
