SC/ST/OBC & Minority Committee

                   The SC, ST, OBC, and Minority Committee will consist of at least Five (05) members, including a Convener and a Co-Convener. At least two (02) members shall be from the SC/ ST/ OBC/MINORITY Community, and one (01) member shall be female.

1. Convener: The Committee is chaired by a faculty member or administrative staff member appointed by the institution designating the “Convener.” The Convener will be a representative from the SC, ST, OBC, and MINORITY Communities. The Convener will be the liaisoning officer of this Committee and oversee the Committee’s activities, coordinate initiatives, and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
2. Co-Convener: The Co-Convener may be a senior official or a representative nominated by the head of the Institution/Convener from within the committee members. The Co-Convener will be responsible for assisting the Convener in supervising the committee operations, advocating for the rights and welfare of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Minority communities, analyzing policies, engaging stakeholders, organizing awareness programs, monitoring policy implementation, collaborating with organizations, addressing discrimination, providing legal support, documenting activities, and facilitating capacity building and conflict resolution within the Committee.
3. Members: The Committee will be comprised of the members as mentioned  below:
   • Faculty members: Including faculty members from diverse disciplines ensures that academic perspectives are integrated into the Committee’s initiatives. Faculty members may also mentor and support SC, ST, OBC, AND MINORITY students.
   • Administrative staff: Staff members from departments such as student affairs, counseling services, and academic support may be included to facilitate the implementation of support services and interventions for SC, ST, OBC, AND MINORITY students. 
   • Student Representatives from the SC, ST, OBC, and Minority Community: These members provide insights into the specific challenges and needs of SC, ST, OBC, and Minority students, advocate for their interests, and collaborate with the Committee on various initiatives.
