The composition of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), as outlined by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), typically includes the following members:

1. Presiding Officer:
   • A female faculty member employed at a senior level, not below the rank of Professor in universities or Associate Professor in institutions, nominated by the Executive Authority.
2. Faculty Members:
   • Two faculty members nominated by the Executive Authority.
   • These members should have a commitment to women’s causes, experience in social work, or legal knowledge.
3. Non-Teaching Employees:
   • Two non-teaching employees nominated by the Executive Authority.
   • Similar to faculty members, they should preferably be committed to women’s causes, have experience in social work, or possess legal knowledge.
4. Students:
   • Three students, including at least one female student, from the pre-final or final year of undergraduate/diploma level institutions, nominated by the Executive Authority.
5. External Member:
   • One member from a non-governmental organization (NGO) or association committed to women’s causes or a person familiar with issues related to sexual harassment nominated by the Executive Authority.
6. Gender Representation:
   • At least half of the total members of the ICC should be women.
7. Exclusion of Senior Positions:
   • Persons holding senior positions such as Chairman, Secretary of the Society, Principal, Director of the institution, etc., are excluded from being members of the ICC to ensure the autonomy of its functioning.
